NSG in 2022 - a well-overdue update

2022 was a busy year! In May, we had a fantastic solo and groups concert - the final event of the academic year. It was a very 'Proud Teacher Event' - with so much of everyone's learning having been disrupted by lockdown's, it felt like a true treat to have live performances.

Over the summer, several members of NSG were able to attend Temple Dinsley Suzuki Summer School which was brilliant! So much motivation and inspiration was gained by pupils and parents alike in addition to a total musical emersion in all things Suzuki. Plus we had a lot of fun :)

October brought our very own NSG Halloween Workshop where we were joined by Suzuki pupils from Leicester. The fabulous Heather Clemson brought her excellent teaching and energy to the afternoon. Much fun was had by all, exploring some new, spooky repertoire and instrument techniques as well as spookifying some of our Suzuki tunes.

Our year ended with a busy weekend in December. Firstly, a solo and group concert where pupils performed beautifully.

The following day, we ventured out to do some Christmas Busking! This was the first event of it's kind for NSG, and it was a huge success. Pupil's were joined by violist and cellist parents to perform a selection of Christmas carols and Suzuki tunes to the shoppers in ASDA, West Bridgford. We raised almost £300 in the two hours we played for - a fantastic amount which was shared equally by Look UK and MySightNotts.

It was a truly special end to a year of lots of hard-work and joy.

Well done, NSG!

Congratulations to all pupils who took part in our Book 1 Playtogether for Comic Relief last weekend - we raised £240 in total. All your practising paid off! Keep it up :)
